The HP Poly EncorePro 520 is the dual-ear binaural version of the EncorePro 500 series — the professional over-the-head corded headset engineered for call centres, helpdesks, customer service teams, and intensive-use telephony environments where all-day wearing comfort, noise-cancelling microphone clarity, acoustic safety, and durable construction are non-negotiable requirements. Featuring a flexible unibody boom mic, visual and tactile positioning guides, SoundGuard acoustic protection, aircraft-grade aluminium joints, laser-welded construction, and Plantronics QD Quick Disconnect — the EncorePro 520 is Poly's most proven binaural call centre headset platform.

BINAURAL OVER-THE-HEAD — BOTH EARS, MAXIMUM FOCUS

The EncorePro 520's binaural design covers both ears — the defining difference from the monaural EncorePro 510, which covers only one ear. By covering both ears simultaneously, the EncorePro 520:

- Isolates the user from open-plan office ambient noise, nearby conversations, and call floor chatter passively — without requiring ANC electronics or battery power

- Improves call comprehension in noisy call centre environments where a single-ear headset allows too much ambient noise to compete with the caller's voice

- Reduces listening fatigue during intensive multi-hour call sessions — the brain works less to isolate a voice signal when ambient noise is physically blocked from both ears

- Enables full concentration on the caller — critical for complex customer service interactions, technical support, and compliance-sensitive call recording scenarios

The over-the-head wearing style distributes weight evenly across the head rather than concentrating it at one ear — the correct choice for users who wear a headset for 6-8+ hours per shift.

NOISE-CANCELLING MICROPHONE — 150 Hz – 6.8 KHz WIDEBAND

The EncorePro 520's next-generation noise-cancelling microphone provides enhanced echo and background noise cancellation — filtering ambient call floor noise, keyboard sounds, and colleague conversation from the transmitted voice signal before it reaches the caller. The flexible unibody boom is adjustable to precise positioning and maintains its set position under movement. Visual and tactile positioning guides provide audible ratchet clicks when the boom reaches the optimal microphone position for voice detection — eliminating guesswork and ensuring consistent microphone placement across every call without manually checking microphone proximity.

Wideband audio (150 Hz – 6.8 kHz) captures the full frequency range of human speech with significantly more detail than narrowband (300 Hz – 3.4 kHz) telephony audio — delivering richer, clearer voice quality that reduces the listening effort required to understand callers during extended sessions.

SOUNDGUARD ACOUSTIC PROTECTION — 118 dBA LIMIT

SoundGuard technology continuously monitors incoming audio and limits sound spikes to below 118 dBA — protecting against sudden loud sounds from line noise, call drops, dial tones, and accidental audio spikes that can cause immediate hearing damage or cumulative auditory fatigue. SoundGuard compliance meets OSHA and Noise at Work regulations — a requirement for call centre deployments in regulated employment environments where employer duty of care mandates acoustic safety.

POLY QD QUICK DISCONNECT — WALK AWAY WITHOUT REMOVING THE HEADSET

The QD (Quick Disconnect) connector allows the user to leave their workstation temporarily by simply unplugging the QD connector from the cable without removing the headset from their head. The call is automatically placed on hold (via compatible desk phone) when the QD disconnects. The QD is compatible with all Poly USB audio processors (DA80, DA85, DA90), amplifiers, and direct connect cables for desk phones, PCs, and unified communications platforms.

REQUIRES AMPLIFIER OR DIRECT CONNECT CABLE

The EncorePro 520 is a passive headset — it requires a separate Poly amplifier or direct connect cable to connect to:

- USB PC: DA80 or DA85 USB audio processor (sold separately)

- Desk phone (analogue): corresponding direct connect cable for the specific desk phone model

- Cisco IP phones, Avaya, Yealink, Polycom: model-specific QD to RJ-9/RJ-10 direct connect cable

The EncorePro 520 does not plug directly into a PC headphone jack or mobile device — a Poly QD audio processor or direct connect cable is required for every use scenario.

LASER-WELDED CONSTRUCTION + AIRCRAFT-GRADE ALUMINIUM JOINTS

Metals are employed structurally at key joints — not cosmetically — using aircraft-grade aluminium at the headband and boom articulation points. Laser-welded construction at structural joints provides greater resistance to fatigue cracking and joint separation than adhesive or mechanical fastening methods — the EncorePro 520 is designed to withstand the physical demands of continuous daily use across multi-year call centre headset lifecycles without joint failure.

ULTRA-SOFT FOAM EAR CUSHIONS + 82G LIGHTWEIGHT

Ultra-soft foam ear cushions provide consistent comfort across full workday use without ear pressure or temperature buildup. At 82g, the EncorePro 520 is one of the lightest dedicated binaural over-the-head headsets available — the low weight minimises neck and head fatigue during multi-hour shift use.

TELECOIL HEARING AID COMPATIBLE (HAC)

The EncorePro 520 is Telecoil Hearing Aid Compatible — supporting inductive loop coupling with T-coil equipped hearing aids for users with hearing impairment who require hearing aid integration for telephony use.

BROAD COMPATIBILITY — ALL POLY QD ECOSYSTEM

The EncorePro 520 is compatible with all Poly QD cables and audio processors:

- Poly DA80, DA85, DA90 USB audio processors (PC use)

- MDA220 amplifier (desk phone + PC simultaneous)

- Direct connect cables for Cisco IP, Avaya, Yealink, Polycom, Alcatel, Mitel, and most desk phone brands
