LENOVO CABLE USC-C FAST CHARGING

The Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 Cable (4X91K16968) is a 0.7-metre Intel-certified Thunderbolt 4 cable — delivering 40Gbps bidirectional data transfer, 100W USB-C Power Delivery, 8K single-display or dual-4K display output, and full compatibility with Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 docks, USB4 devices, and all USB-C peripherals. The compact 0.7m length is the optimal desk-side cable for connecting a ThinkPad to a Thunderbolt 4 dock without excess cable creating desk clutter.

THUNDERBOLT 4 — 40GBPS: 8× FASTER THAN USB 3.1 GEN 1

Thunderbolt 4 operates at 40Gbps bidirectional bandwidth — the highest data throughput available in a passive USB-C cable at this length. At 40Gbps, the 4X91K16968 delivers:

- Thunderbolt 4 dock full-bandwidth operation: all downstream devices (USB hub, display output, Ethernet, audio) running simultaneously at full speed without bandwidth sharing bottlenecks

- External NVMe SSD at full Thunderbolt speed: PCIe Gen3 ×4 over Thunderbolt (up to ~2,750 MB/s sequential read on compatible enclosures)

- USB4 20Gbps devices: backward-compatible at USB4's maximum throughput

- USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps): backward-compatible at full speed

- USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps): backward-compatible at full speed

- USB 2.0 (480Mbps): fully compatible

The 40Gbps bandwidth is 8× faster than the USB 3.1 Gen 1 cable (5Gbps) — the difference is measurable in real-world external SSD performance and dock device bandwidth allocation.

100W POWER DELIVERY — FULL-SPEED LAPTOP CHARGING

The 4X91K16968 delivers 100W Power Delivery via USB-C — sufficient for full-speed charging of:

- ThinkPad X1 Carbon (65W): full-speed charge with headroom

- ThinkPad T/E/L series (65W): full-speed charge

- MacBook Pro 14" (67W): full-speed charge

- MacBook Pro 16" (96W): near-full-speed charge

- Gaming laptops requiring 100W USB-C: full-rated power delivery

The 4X91K16968 also supports up to 170W/230W charging when used with Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt docks that supply power via their DC connector — the dock's power supply routes higher wattage to the connected ThinkPad independently of the cable's 100W USB-C rating.

8K DISPLAY + DUAL 4K — SINGLE CABLE DISPLAY OUTPUT

Through DisplayPort Alternate Mode over Thunderbolt 4, the 4X91K16968 supports:

- Single display: 8K at 60Hz (7680×4320) on compatible Thunderbolt displays

- Dual displays: 4K at 60Hz simultaneously when connected to a Thunderbolt 4 dock with dual display output

- Standard 4K: 4K at 60Hz on USB-C monitors with DisplayPort Alt Mode

The single cable from a ThinkPad to a Thunderbolt 4 dock replaces all individual display, data, and power connections — one cable for display, all USB peripherals, Ethernet, audio, and laptop charging simultaneously.

LENOVO THINKPAD THUNDERBOLT 4 DOCK — PERFECT COMPANION

The 4X91K16968 is the correct replacement cable for Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Dock (40B00135EU, 40B00135WW) and ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock — the cable that ships in the box with these docks is identical. Use as a replacement when the original cable is lost or damaged, or as an additional cable for a second desk position.

0.7M — OPTIMAL DESK-SIDE LENGTH WITHOUT CLUTTER

The 0.7-metre length is specifically designed for the distance between a ThinkPad and a dock positioned at the back of a desk — sufficient reach without creating excess cable slack that loops across the desk surface. Lenovo designed the 0.7m length to solve the pain point of cluttered desks from overly long TB4 cables. For setups requiring greater reach, the Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 Cable 1m (4X91U94412) provides additional length with the same 40Gbps performance.

SILICONE CABLE JACKET — FLEXIBLE, DURABLE

The silicone cable jacket is more flexible than standard PVC cables — lying flat on desk surfaces without memory-stiffness and bending naturally around desk obstacles. The 4.6mm cable diameter maintains a slim profile that routes cleanly through cable management solutions.

FULL BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY — THUNDERBOLT 3, USB4, USB 3.x, USB 2.0

A Thunderbolt 4 cable is backward compatible with all previous USB-C and Thunderbolt standards:

- Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps): fully compatible

- USB4 (20Gbps): operates at USB4 maximum speed

- USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps): fully compatible

- USB 3.2 Gen 1 / USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps): fully compatible

- USB 2.0 (480Mbps): fully compatible

The 4X91K16968 can replace any USB-C cable in any application — the TB4 certification guarantees it performs at whatever standard the connected device supports.

REACH + ROHS CERTIFIED — BAMBOO FIBER PACKAGING

Environmental compliance across REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) confirms responsible materials throughout the cable's construction. Bamboo fiber packaging reflects Lenovo's sustainable packaging commitment.
