There is a 29-inch diagonal screen size on LG 29EA93 monitor, which is quite large. In reality, the panel is barely 12 inches high, so that number is deceptive. A 21:9 aspect ratio with a 2560 x 1080 pixel resolution, this is a newfangled ultra-widescreen monitor.
Why would you build such an extremely wide and skinny display? It would appeal to hard-core movie buffs who prefer movies without or with minimal letterboxing. There are also users who are unable to accommodate two physical monitors on their desks but still want to view two documents simultaneously. Though the 29EA93 measures 27.6 inches wide, it still consumes quite a bit of desk space.
Due to the screen's ultra-widescreen nature, LG offers a few amenities. Inputs can be split between hardware controls, so you can show two sources simultaneously. Additionally, LG includes software that makes managing Windows easier.
Still, it's hard to get past the skinny, wide aspect ratio. Although it's striking, it seems to be very niche.
Performance of LG 29EA93
Spyder 4 Elite was used to calibrate the display. A 100 percent SRGB and 80 percent Adobe RGB color gamut makes the display ideal for video and gaming applications. In terms of photo editing, it's adequate, but professional photographers may prefer a display with an even wider color gamut. Professional photographers, however, would probably avoid odd aspect ratios anyway.
