Riello Sentinel Dual SDU 10000 Online UPS 10kVA / 10kW – Rack/Tower

The Riello Sentinel Dual SDU 10000 is a 10kVA / 10kW single-phase online double-conversion UPS in a versatile rack/tower format. It delivers full rated power at unity power factor (kVA = kW), with efficiency of up to 95% in online mode, hot-swappable batteries, a swivel LCD display, and programmable outlets, all in a compact 6U footprint. It is built for server rooms, edge sites, network and storage equipment, medical devices, industrial machinery, and emergency systems that cannot afford a power interruption.

ONLINE DOUBLE CONVERSION: CLEAN POWER, ZERO TRANSFER TIME

The Sentinel Dual rebuilds the output power continuously, so connected equipment always runs on filtered, stabilised, sinusoidal power with no transfer time when the mains fails. It protects against power outages, sags, surges, brownouts, frequency variation, switching transients, and harmonic distortion. The unit is classified VFI-SS-111 under IEC 62040-3, the highest performance class for UPS output.

10KVA = 10KW: UNITY POWER FACTOR

The SDU 10000 provides 10,000W of real power from its 10,000VA rating, so you can load it to its full rating. Many UPS systems at this size give up 10% or more of their rating to a lower power factor. It also handles non-linear loads such as blade servers and switch-mode power supplies.

6U RACK OR FLOOR-STANDING TOWER

The unit installs either in a 19-inch rack (two 3U modules, 6U in total, 640mm deep) or as a floor-standing tower with the two modules side by side. Plug-and-play installation and a compact footprint suit edge applications and space-limited server rooms.

WIDE INPUT TOLERANCE: 220/230/240V

Input is 220, 230, or 240V single-phase (±20% at 230V) with auto-selected 50/60Hz (±5%) and input power factor above 0.98. The output voltage is selectable (220/230/240V) with 50/60Hz output that is autosensing. The bypass accepts 180–264V.

UP TO 95% EFFICIENCY, 98% IN ECO MODE

Efficiency reaches up to 95% in online double-conversion mode and up to 98% in ECO mode, which cuts energy waste and heat. Four operating modes cover different needs:

- Online: maximum protection and output quality

- Eco: lower consumption when the mains is stable

- Smart Active: the UPS chooses the best mode based on mains quality

- Frequency Converter: output frequency can differ from input

HOT-SWAPPABLE BATTERIES

Batteries can be replaced without switching off the UPS or interrupting the load, so critical equipment stays powered during maintenance. The batteries are VRLA AGM maintenance-free, with a typical recharge time of 4–6 hours. Standard runtime is about 3 minutes at full load, and optional battery extension packs add autonomy.

ENERGYSHARE OUTLETS

Output is by terminal block plus 2 × IEC C13 and 3 × IEC C19 sockets. EnergyShare outlets prioritise critical loads and can shed non-critical equipment to extend runtime on battery.

EMERGENCY FUNCTION

An emergency function keeps emergency lighting, fire detection and extinguishing systems, and alarms running.

ROTATING BACKLIT LCD

The backlit LCD display and control panel swivels 90° to read in either rack or tower orientation. Fan speed adapts to the load in real time for low noise.

PARALLEL UP TO 3 UNITS

Connect up to 3 units to increase power, extend battery runtime, or build N+1 redundancy.

CONNECTIVITY

USB and DB9 RS232 ports with contacts, a REPO input, one slot for an optional communication card, and one slot for an optional parallel card. Fully configurable with Riello UPS software.
