Riello Sentinel Dual SDU 6000 Online UPS 6kVA / 6kW – 3U Rack/Tower

The Riello Sentinel Dual SDU 6000 is a 6kVA / 6kW single-phase online double-conversion UPS in a compact 3U rack/tower format. It delivers full rated power at unity power factor (kVA = kW), with efficiency of up to 95% in online mode, hot-swappable batteries, a swivel LCD display, and ten output sockets, in a single module that fits a rack or stands on the floor. It is built for server rooms, comms rooms, edge sites, network and storage equipment, medical devices, and industrial controls that cannot afford a power interruption.

ONLINE DOUBLE CONVERSION: CLEAN POWER, ZERO TRANSFER TIME

The Sentinel Dual rebuilds the output power continuously, so connected equipment always runs on filtered, stabilised, sinusoidal power with no transfer time when the mains fails. It protects against power outages, sags, surges, brownouts, frequency variation, switching transients, and harmonic distortion. It is classified VFI-SS-111 under IEC 62040-3, the highest performance class for UPS output.

6KVA = 6KW: UNITY POWER FACTOR

The SDU 6000 provides 6,000W of real power from its 6,000VA rating, so you can load it to its full rating. Many UPS systems at this size give up 10% or more of their rating to a lower power factor. It also handles non-linear loads such as blade servers and switch-mode power supplies (crest factor up to 3:1), and offers 150% overload capability from the inverter.

3U RACK OR FLOOR-STANDING TOWER

A single module installs in a 19-inch rack at 3U and 640mm deep, or stands as a floor-standing tower (448 × 131 × 640mm). Plug-and-play installation and a compact footprint suit edge applications and space-limited server rooms.

WIDE INPUT TOLERANCE: 220/230/240V

Input is 220, 230, or 240V single-phase (±20% at full load at 230V) with 50/60Hz (±5%) and input power factor above 0.98. Output voltage is selectable (220/230/240V). The bypass accepts 180–264V. The batteries stay out of the circuit on mains drops shorter than 20ms or when input stays between 184V and 276V, which saves battery life.

UP TO 95% EFFICIENCY

Efficiency reaches up to 95% in online mode, which cuts energy waste and heat. Selectable operating modes cover different needs:

- Online: maximum protection and output quality

- Eco: lower consumption when the mains is stable

- Smart Active: the UPS chooses the best mode based on mains quality

- Frequency Converter: output frequency can differ from input

HOT-SWAPPABLE BATTERIES

Batteries can be replaced without switching off the UPS or interrupting the load. They are VRLA AGM maintenance-free, with a typical recharge time of 4–6 hours. A low ripple current discharge (LCRD) system protects battery life, and automatic and manual battery tests keep you informed of battery health. Runtime is about 4 minutes at full load, and matching battery boxes extend it without limit.

ENERGYSHARE OUTLETS

Output is by terminal block plus 8 × IEC C13 and 2 × IEC C19 sockets. EnergyShare 10A configurable outlets let you program low-priority loads to switch off on mains failure to extend runtime, or activate emergency loads that are normally off. Output sockets are protected by resettable thermal switches.

EMERGENCY FUNCTION

An emergency function keeps emergency lighting, fire detection and extinguishing systems, and alarms running.

SWIVEL BACKLIT LCD

A backlit LCD shows status, measurements, and alarms and rotates to suit rack or tower orientation. Fan speed adapts to the load in real time for low noise.

PARALLEL UP TO 3 UNITS

Connect up to 3 units to increase power, extend battery runtime, or build N+1 redundancy. The parallel kit is ordered with the UPS.

CONNECTIVITY AND PROTECTION FEATURES

USB and DB9 RS232 ports with contacts, a REPO input, and slots for an optional communication card and parallel card. Auto-restart when the mains returns (programmable), automatic bypass without interruption, minimum-load switch-off, low-battery warning, start-up delay, and flash-upgradeable firmware.
